What our guests have to say

We wanted a hotel with a good location to all the sights and transport. This hotel fitted the bill and with so much more!!. I would recommend this hotel, the hotel staff are so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel itself is awesome, the lift dates back to the early 1900s and it adds to the atmosphere of the hotel. We stayed for 2 nights in the room only (no ensuite) it was on the top floor and the bathroom was 3 floors down, (the hotel informs of this on website), so if booking keep this in mind. Once again a great hotel!Kristen S - United Kingdom
This was actually our second time staying at the Hotel Deauville. We stayed here back in 2009. This time we had our own bathroom (previous time was a "shared" bathroom), which was nice to have. The hotel staff were very friendly and even prior to our trip when I called and asked a few questions they were very helpful. Is the hotel fancy, no, but its a great place to stay! Who stays in their room when they travel to NYC anyways. We had a warm shower, a decent bed and an awesome location!MavsFanFL - Houston, TX
The location is really great - 50 meters from a 6 subway station (at 28th st.) and from a Duane Reade pharmacy store. All of midtown is within a walking distance (Empire State Building - 7 min., Times Sq. - 15 min.). The hotel's crew was really helpful and nice.Ari - Tel Aviv, Israel
I was a bit trepidatious about staying here, but could not afford the normal prices. I was very pleased with the hotel! Very clean, amazingly helpful staff, very comfortable, charming old hotel. We gave up a couple of luxuries, but it made for a great vacation! We were able to afford the trip without counting our pennies because of an overpriced hotel! Do not hesitate to stay here!Climbingmomma - Houston, Texas
The façade of the hotel is retro-inspired and for those of us who like architecture, was a nice break from the plain brick buildings around it. You walk inside and there is a clean lobby with a service desk right there. Off the lobby is a common room for relaxing and checking out brochures of things to do in NYC. Check in was fast and efficient and I liked the old-timey charm of having a key although having to carry it around was a little nerve racking since the plastic key cards are easy to slip in your wallet and I worried about reaching into my pocket for my phone and losing the key in the process. We were taken up to our room in an old-timey elevator complete with an elevator operator. The operator was there around the clock, so even returning back to the hotel in the wee hours of the morning, there was someone there to take us up to the 6th floor. But, we ended up not wanting to bother the operator, so we walked up to the 6th floor frequently, which was a bit of a work out. The stairwell was nicely done and again had a certain old-timey charm. The room was large, WIFI was fast and free, the water was hot, plentiful and at good pressure. The window unit both cooled and warmed the room easily and we could open the windows for fresh air if we desired. The staff was friendly and helpful, housekeeping was thorough and there was a market right across the street. The location is great if you like to be centrally located - about the same distance to Battery Park and Ground Zero as it was to Times Square. All of this for less than $200 night. I would definitely recommend Hotel Deauville and would definitely stay there again.Pipertrail - Manchester, New Hampshire
I stayed in the Hotel Deauville on my first ever USA holiday. It’s located down a side street and its very private. Its just yards away from the Empire State Building, and its location couldn't be better.Luke - Kingston Upon Hull, UK
